Built in 1935 by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis and once described by Prince Charles as the highest slum in England. The café/visitor centre has now been the subject of an £8.4m re-build project and was re-opened in June 2009 by AM First Minister Rhodri Morgan. Roften Galvanizing was contracted to Hot Dip Galvanize the internal Steelwork of the café and visitor centre.
